Detroit rapper Boldy James first gained fame from his mixtapes Consignment, Favor For A Favor: The Redi Rock Mixtape, as well as his collaborations with high-profile artists such as The Alchemist and The Cool Kids. Last year, Boldy released his commercial debut with the Grand Quarters EP (via Decon Records), which served as a lead-in to an Alchemist-produced LP later this year. Boldy is a deft storyteller – spitting deceptively bare-bones bars with a distinct Midwestern lean. He has worked with various producers such as his cousin Chuck Inglish (formerly of the The Cool Kids), Chicago duo Blended Babies, Huntsville heat-makers Block Beattaz, Poppy Bricks, Kevo Da Kid and more. Following the success of My 1st Chemistry Set, Boldy James has released his first single “Crunchin” off of his upcoming mixtape Trapper’s Alley 2 — dropping this fall. “Crunchin” is now available for download on iTunes.

Following the success of My 1st Chemistry Set, Boldy James recently released his mixtape Trappers Alley 2 – the sequel to his first mixtape, Trappers Alley. The tape features artists like Kevin Gates, Snootie Wild, and Prodigy with production from M88 of 808 Mafia, Go Grizzly, JMSN and others.

“…he’s a rapper for whom content is style, whose subtle poetic gifts are dependent on the seeming veracity of the concrete heart of the stories he tells.” – Pitchfork
